About Me
I was born and raised right here in District 4. I grew up in Santa Barbara at a time when my parents — a school teacher and an artist — could afford to buy a home and raise a family here. I attended the same schools where my dad taught, and my mom instilled in me a lifelong appreciation for the arts and culture that make Santa Barbara such a special place.
Like many, I left for college and to build my career, but I always knew I wanted to come back to raise my own family here. Today, I am fortunate to live just down the hill from where I grew up. My husband, who immigrated to this country from Bolivia, and I are now enjoying the beautiful chaos of raising three teenagers!
I’m a mom, a neighbor, and a proven problem-solver. For two decades, I’ve helped organizations tackle complex challenges by bringing people together, finding practical solutions, and delivering results. I’m running to put that experience to work for Santa Barbara: to preserve what makes our city so special while ensuring it remains a place where the next generation can afford to live, work, and thrive.
I serve on the City's Neighborhood Advisory Council and enjoy volunteering at my children's schools. When I'm not working or volunteering, you'll find me hiking, running, playing sports, or enjoying one of Santa Barbara's incredible arts or music performances.
I'm deeply invested in this district and in Santa Barbara as a whole. I want the next generation, including my own children, to have the opportunity to build their futures here. But that won't happen without thoughtful leadership and difficult decisions. In the years ahead, Santa Barbara faces important choices about housing, revitalizing downtown, protecting our coastline and natural resources, preparing our neighborhoods for wildfire, strengthening public safety, and supporting a thriving local economy with good jobs.

City Council needs leadership to end the decision paralysis. We need action: a clean, landscaped, walkable downtown with cultural programming that welcomes locals and visitors alike. No more taxpayer dollars on studies and temporary fixes. I will use my 20 years in the private sector to facilitate small business opportunities, expand workforce training, and streamline adaptive reuse permitting.
Our community is stronger when the people who work and serve this community can afford to live here. We need housing, including workforce housing, that fits the character of our community, not oversized development in high fire zones that sacrifices public safety. Facilitating downtown and missing middle housing, putting city-owned land to use, and pursuing adaptive reuse of existing buildings will be a faster, greener option that supports downtown revitalization.
The city has spent through its contingency reserves and dipped into emergency disaster funds. I will bring discipline to the Council, drawing on decades managing budgets and operations within global companies and, now, within a small business where every project has a deadline, and every lead is accountable for results.
Homes and the beauty of our natural landscape are increasingly threatened by wildfire risk and climate change. Our coastline is at the heart of our community and a major economic driver, but sea level rise and aging offshore oil pipelines put it at risk. We need to invest now to support fire department infrastructure, expanded wildfire management and coastline adaptation plans.
Traffic safety is a growing concern in District 4 with accidents and near-misses becoming too common. The city needs to be responsive to resident concerns, taking action before incidents happen. Additionally, a connected network of bike lanes that is clearly marked will support alternative modes of transportation that reduce congestion while protecting pedestrians and cyclists alike.
I want the next generation, including my own children, to have the opportunity to build their futures here. We need to focus on youth safety, increased recreational opportunities and creating more pathways to jobs. I will work with the Santa Barbara Youth Council to elevate youth perspectives and pursue a coordinated, comprehensive strategy for workforce training and career pipelines that build on existing technical and apprenticeship programs.
